Infrastructure & Data Engineer

Copenhagen
/
Fulltime

THE OPPORTUNITY

No frontend, no backend. Just data. We are building the next-gen platform for data on consumption and emission from buildings. We run a tight ship with a no job is not your job mentality. Whether it's adapting a data model, building a dashboard or contributing to infrastructure, we help each other out where it's needed. As Infrastructure & Data Engineer your core responsibility will be to own the cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment pipelines that keep our platform reliable and scalable. In addition you'll pitch in where everyone else does by building pipelines and making that data flow.

We move fast with AI. Everyone uses Claude Code and AI tooling extensively to accelerate development, and you'll be expected to do the same. In addition to Claude Code we encourage constantly exploring and trying out new AI tools. But here's the critical part: AI helps you move faster, not think less. Quality is your responsibility, and you own what you ship.

ABOUT LEGACY

Legacy is a purpose-driven green-tech start-up building software for the financial and real estate sectors to drive climate action—at scale. We're on a mission to decarbonize the built environment by helping organizations measure, report, and reduce their carbon emissions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

  • Design and maintain GCP infrastructure using Terraform
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Cloud Build
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes
  • Manage containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE)

Platform Reliability & Developer Experience

  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring)
  • Manage VPCs, networking, IAM policies, and security controls
  • Setup and own our CI/CD standards across different microservices
  • Own and improve our Data Orchestration tooling

Extract, Transform & Load

  • Build ETL pipelines that extract data from various systems and pipes them onto BIgQuery
  • Model the data through the layers for our data model until they are ready for consumption
  • Own end-to-end documentation and verification of the data pipelines you build

WHO YOU ARE

Technical Foundation. You have 5+ years of DevOps/SRE experience with deep expertise in GCP and Terraform. You've built production infrastructure from scratch and have strong skills in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD automation, and infrastructure monitoring. You understand security best practices, networking, and have experience with multi-cloud environments. Python/Bash scripting comes naturally to you.

Your approach. Even as an engineer, we expect you to be product-minded. Think about how the thing you're building will impact our customers. You don't throw code over the wall— own it all the way into production. You're a pragmatist. Balance perfect with good enough and know when to optimize or when to ship.

Your core values. Communication is king. Always know what everyone else is doing and why— and vice versa. Check your ego at the door and jump in whenever the team needs you, even if it's outside of your comfort zone.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary with pension
  • Real hybrid working conditions with in-office presence 2-3 days a week
  • Office space in a central part of Copenhagen
  • Small, efficient team (focus time, minimal meetings, protect deep working time)
  • Possibility of warrants for the right candidate

WHAT'S THE PROCESS

Our process is simple: 25 minute screening → 50 min vibe coding exercise → meet the team for lunch or coffee and then we are ready for a decision. We are looking for the right people and we are not in a hurry to find them, so expect to be pushed hard in this process.
