Student Data Analyst - Risk Intelligence & Insights
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋
Do you love digging into large datasets to find the story hidden in the numbers? Are you looking for a role where your SQL skills and statistical flair can help shape the narrative around climate risk in the real estate sector?
We are looking for a Student Data Analyst to join our team in Copenhagen - 15-20 hours/week (Flexible during exams).
At Legacy, we are building the leading Climate & Transition Risk Intelligence platform for Physical Assets. We possess a massive (and growing) dataset on building performance, energy consumption, and climate risks – and we need your help to turn that raw data into market-moving insights.
In this role, you won't just be building dashboards. You will work directly with our product and commercial teams to extract trends, correlations, and insights from BigQuery. You will play a key role in producing analyses and articles that position Legacy as a thought leader in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Data Mining & Analysis: Query and analyze complex datasets in BigQuery to identify trends in energy efficiency, CO2 emissions, and climate risk exposure.
- Content Creation: Collaborate with the team and external partners to turn your data findings into compelling articles, white papers, and LinkedIn insights.
- Statistical Modeling: Apply statistical methods to validate our data and ensure our "Risk Scores" are robust and accurate.
- Ad-hoc Reporting: Support the founders and customers with specific data requests (e.g., "How does flood risk correlate with energy labels in this portfolio?").
What you'll be doing
Within 1 month, you will:
- Get to know the team and our tech stack.
- Deep dive into our data schema in Google BigQuery and understand the logic behind our Risk Intelligence Platform.
- Perform your first data extractions to support a specific customer case or internal analysis.
Within 3 months, you will:
- Take ownership of specific analytical projects, finding patterns in how buildings perform across different geographies.
- Co-author your first data-driven article or market report alongside a colleague.
- Help optimize our SQL queries to make our analysis faster and more efficient.
Within 6 months, you will:
- Be the go-to person for internal data insights.
- Proactively suggest new angles for analyses based on the data you see daily.
- Have established a workflow where you translate raw data into polished charts and narratives for external publication.
What you'll bring to the team
You are likely studying at ITU, DTU, KU, or CBS (e.g., Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Analytics).
- Analytical & Statistical: You understand statistics and know how to separate signal from noise. You are meticulous about data quality.
- Technical Skills: You have experience with SQL (knowledge of BigQuery is a big plus). You are comfortable with Excel/Sheets, and maybe you know a bit of Python or R (not a requirement, but cool if you do).
- Storyteller: You don't just deliver a CSV file; you can explain what the data means. You enjoy writing and communicating complex findings simply.
- Curious: You want to understand the "Why" behind the data – specifically regarding climate change and finance.
- Language: Excellent writing skills in English (required for articles) and preferably Danish.
What's in it for you?
Working at Legacy:
- Real Data Experience: You will work with real-world, large-scale datasets in a modern tech stack (BigQuery).
- Published Work: You will get your name on analyses and articles shared with industry leaders, banks, and investors.
- Mentorship: You will work closely with experienced team members who will help you sharpen your technical and commercial skills.
- Impact: Your analysis helps validate the risks of climate change for some of the biggest asset owners in the Nordics.
- Flexibility & Culture: Flexible hours suited for a student life, a central office in Copenhagen, and a team that values curiosity.

- Risk Scanning (Due Diligence): Providing instant red flags for acquisitions.
- Portfolio Management: Enabling live monitoring and Net Zero roadmaps.
We empower Real Estate Owners, Banks, and Advisors to make data-backed decisions.
